Est ouvert
I'm happy to announce that Est ouvert (ie is open) project is up and running! You can enjoy it here: estouvert.jboisseur.xyz (it's in French).
Est ouvert is a single page application allowing users to save into localStorage a list of facilities they frequently go to with their opening hours. This way you don't have to go to your map app or the library website every two days.
It has following functionalities:
- fetch data on OpenStreetMap from a URL thanks to the Overpass API
- fetch country code with reverse geocoding thanks to the Nominatim API
- use opening_hours.js library to
- have a user friendly display of opening hours
- get the facility status (open or close)
- save data into the browser localStorage - with used space calculation
I used Vue.js framework and KelpUI library for this project and it was very helpful.
Next steps are:
- allow user to sort the lines as they wish (alphabetical / drag and drop repositioning)
- think of how to get it more international friendly
