another web journey

Well this week I did travel for a long time. I read some interesting things while surfing the internets:

• that LibreOffice is now compatible with markdown - see post on GoodTech.info (in French)
• some tips from Matthias Ott to fight against Webspace Invaders, aka AI bots. It's not much but I've updated robots.txt for this blog and will do the same for some other sites I'm responsible of!
• some news on Eleventy on 11tybundle.dev - particularly interested into the 11tyCMS beta, I may try this out someday.
• that there was someone maintening sudo (I didn't imagine it was something that required maintenance) and... it's only one guy! And he needs help. See post on The Register

I also discovered that all my pull requests for Bludit were rejected, without explanation (but it looks like all opened PR were rejected, which is kind of confort). This is probably because it needs to be resubmitted against the updated version (which does not seem to work so well) but no word from the mainteners. It feels a bit rude.

Ooops I did not find time lately for these little posts... So here's a brief recap of what I've done in the past few weeks:

• visiting friends and family in Paris (and some museums like Musée de la Libération, la Contemporaine and the Zadkine museum)
• listening to music: the Epic saga and the work of Juju Vagabond that I saw playing live 😊
• reading Nos puissantes amitiés an essay from Alice Raybaud about the strength of friendship... Very inspiring! And an invitation to take care of our closed ones.
• went to the cinema, a conference prior to the local elections, played boardgames...
• worked on non-merci (see the datalist post haha) and commited myself to create the print PDF for our upcoming project at les éditions du samedi, with Scribus... That won't be easy!
• saw that Bludit updated! I've got to update all my Bludit sites then 😎
• read Introduction to the new HTML element <geolocation>, a very interesting blog post from Matuzo!

This week I...

• took my bike on a train to get closer to have a walk in mountain / forest with a friend. It was all misty but great to get a big bowl of air! And it was the occasion to discover the project of the Fish Doorbell in Netherlands (on pause until early March!) and the peasants riots nearby and in Germany (Bundschuh and the 12 articles text - in French) 
• listened to podcast episodes shared by a friend about typography! Style is a bit old but content remains interesting: about Donald Knuth and the birth of TeX and about the history of typography - both in French.
• read blog posts: The Incredible Overcomplexity of the Shadcn Radio Button (about over complexity from UI libraries) and the announce of jQuery 4.0.0! Not a daily user but there's so much jQuery out on the web that it's still useful to know what's going on.

This week I...

• am reading Quality Land 2.0 : Le secret de Kiki from Marc-Uwe Kling for the unofficial office book club. As funny as the 1^st volume!
• read https://piccalil.li/blog/date-is-out-and-temporal-is-in/ about Date and Temporal in JavaScript. Much enjoyable! I'd like to test Temporal soon. I struggled with Date recently haha
• configured our frama space (Nextcloud instance) for les éditions du samedi !
• slighlty continued working on "non merci" project
• tried to convince my family-in-law to switch from What's App to Signal. Not a full success but the seed is there.

This is a new category for short notes and keep track of interesting (or not) blog post / info etc. !

Reading

• Book: reading Piranèse from Susanna Clarke for the office book club

• Music (yes, in reading category): listened to Superbus new album on Deezer. It sounds great! I'm going to see them later this year with my sis.

Computing

• Did some research about Raspberry Pi Pico for a gift for my nephew. Projects from https://projects.raspberrypi.org/en/pathways/pico-intro look very cool but the Kitronik kit cannot be shipped to France 😕 I found another kit on Kubii but it's much more expensive. We will ask my father-in-law if he can get the LEDs, wires and so on easily. Anyway I would be happy to have this to myself as well!
• Started my "what I eat not" project. I told my mum during Christmas holidays I would try to have something by the end of the year! It was renamed "Non merci" and for now is in French. I pushed a first draft on a subdomain (and connected the subdomain to the project on GitHub in OVH backoffice! At least tried. I have to solve an issue so it is automatic). • Framasoft accepted to open a frama space (Nextcloud instance) for the publishing structure I'm involved in! I'm very happy of that and I'll try to configure it this weekend.
